'Knowing we are loved, we learn and grow to be the best that we can be.'

1st March

Good morning and welcome to your last week of Lockdown remote school.   Looking forward to seeing you at our Zoom at 11am today.

Spellings and Handwriting

Our Mondays always start the same:

1. New spellings to copy up and practise your handwriting at the same time.

2. Then write one sentence using each word in context.

3. Finally ask an adult to test you on the words for 1st March

Last week you were adding prefixes and then sorting words into prefix/root word/suffix.  This week you are changing nouns into verbs by adding the correct suffix.  You will need to view the attached worksheet but could then copy these into your English books, rather than print the sheet.  That would also give you practice at drawing tables neatly with a ruler.

We continue with our work on shape, area and perimeter.  This week, the maths is all about finding the area of squares, rectangles and then triangles.

DO NOT SKIP THE VIDEO - IT WILL HELP YOU!!!    It will also help to go back and watch Friday's video again on Area and Perimeter.  Make sure you know the difference.

Spr6.8.1 - Shapes - same area

This is "Spr6.8.1 - Shapes - same area" by White Rose Maths on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

If you finish all of your maths before lunch, then do some extra Personal Targets pages.  I have the Level 5 booklets ready to go at school, if you are getting 3 perfect tests in every section in your Personal Targets booklets.

History - Ancient Egypt

Lesson 2 - What was Ancient Egyptian society like?

At the end of the lesson, there is a task, which I have explained in the document below, along with some sentence starters to help you.

Today you learned about scribes as part of society.  Scribes didn't have paper, as we know it, to write on.  They wrote on papyrus in heiroglyphics.  Have a go at this hieroglyphics sheet and then see if you can write your own name and a sentence in hieroglyphics!

Next week we will be making papyrus to write on at school.
