Morning Year 2,

I hope you had a good day yesterday? I was so looking forward to hearing all about your Christmas holidays. I know lots of you were reading some exciting books before Christmas and I’d love to hear how they ended too. It is going to be a bit strange doing our learning online again to start with, but I’ve been speaking to Miss Pidgeon and she has told me what amazing super stars you were last time you did you learning at home and the fantastic pictures of your work that you sent her.

Our class email address is working again and so I can’t wait to see pictures of the things that you do, you could also just write an email to tell me how you are and what you have been enjoying (or not enjoying!). The pictures you send I can put on our blog so all your friends can see your amazing work too. It is going to be a great way to keep in touch.

I also have some exciting news, we have someone new joining our class. Damian has had a busy few weeks, moving house, enjoying Christmas and lucky for us, now joining our class! A few of you have had to move school and so I am sure you know this can be a little bit scary – even more so at the moment when Damian can’t actually meet you properly and see what an amazing group of lovely, kind children you are. Maybe over the next couple of days you might like to draw a picture of yourself or something you really like doing to introduce yourself to him. If you send them to me I can put them on our blog so he can see them.

Every morning there will be new learning challenges on here for you to complete. You should try your hardest to give them all a go over the day. Remember you also have access to Lexia, Numbots which you could be using for 10/15 minutes every day. Reading is so so important, you must be reading to an adult at home still. Adults you can sign up for a free account on Oxford Owl which has colour banded reading book on there. https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/reading/free-ebooks/

Morning!

Wow, what a great start to your learning at home yesterday. I loved seeing and reading what you did. I also logged on to Lexia and Numbots and I could see so many of you logged in yesterday and completed new levels and challenges – well done! If you have lost or can’t remember passwords, just let me know.

Our class email is HungryCaterpillar@blandfordstmary.dsat.org.uk

As I said yesterday, every morning I will put up your jobs for the day. You must try to work just as hard at home as you do in class. Show your adults your amazing handwriting and super sounding out for spellings. Alongside the challenges in the table below, every day try to do the following things:

- Lexia (If you have a password - 20 minutes)

- Numbots (20 minutes)

- Reading a colour banded book from Oxford Owl (https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/reading/free-ebooks/)

-Take breaks between your learning jobs

- Get outside if you can

I hope you have a good day today.

Good morning everyone,

The poems I got to see from yesterday were incredible! You thought so carefully about what winter makes you think of and then described it beautifully. There is another poem job to do today and I know you'll use those fantastic imaginations to help you.

A few of you have had trouble logging into Lexia the last couple of day, I'm on the case and trying to figure out what is causing the issue. I'll add some links to some extra things today to keep you busy! I have also added into the files for today the Year 1 and 2 common exception spelling list.

Well done for such a positive start this week. I'm so proud of the way you have settled down and got stuck into your learning. I have missed hearing from some of you this week, please do check in and let me know how you are getting on.

Have a lovely weekend. Rest and be kind.  I'll talk to you all  more on Monday morning.
