Friday 27th March

 

Morning everyone, I can’t believe it is Friday already.

 

From yesterday’s work own up, if you listened to David Walliams story and then went on to his home page. Who pressed the big red button that said don’t press? I know I did. If not try it today!!

 

Today is the last day of the TT Battle. It finishes at 3.30. Who will get bragging rights?

 

 

Science – please be safe when going outside. Hopefully it will be sunny today.

 

In your garden find a tall object outside. This could be a washing line or a bird table or even a garden chair.

At 9 am place a marker at the end of the shadow. At 10 am, if the shadow has moved, place a new marker at the end of the shadow. Continue to do this every hour until 2pm.In you book tell me what you notice about the shadows throughout the day. This could be either if it moves or if its length changes.

 

 

English – Creative Writing Task: Advertising Your Town. We live in a wonderful place, this is your chance to highlight what is so great about it. Don’t forget to tell people about what is close by.

 

 

Maths – Begin the Mystery of the Missing Lance St. George’s Day Maths Mystery Game.

Solve Clue 1 – rounding decimals

I’ve also attached a letter from Maths with Parents. This is another site that is now free. The advantage of this site is that once you sign up. I can set the work. It also provides really good videos you can follow to explain how to certain maths objectives.

Morning everyone.

Hope you have been able to access some of the online learning as well as the lessons contained in your pack. Try to get a balance between the two. But in this most unusual of times if you want to take a moment to paint a picture, bake a cake, or build something with mum or dad: go right ahead!

 

Art – Use a piece of paper to draw a rainbow. Ask an adult if you can then display this in your window.

 

PE – Again If you able, log in to the link below and follow Joe Wicks for your daily exercise. (30 minutes)

English – Year 5 English Grammar and Punctuation Test 3. This should take at least 30 minutes.

You are going to write a letter to your local MP about a change that you feel is needed in your community. Our local MP is called Simon Hoare, when we wrote to him last year he wrote back!!!

Western Approaches HQ will be streaming a live Facebook history lesson on life in Wartime Liverpool - aimed at Primary school age, but relevant for all.

The lesson will include a tour around Western Approaches Secret WW2 HQ in Liverpool city centre.

The lesson will also discuss the Battle of The Atlantic, the role of Liverpool during the war, rationing, air raids and more.

Topic - History - World War 2. (30 minute activities)

 

Spend some time finding out about the history of how the war started for Britain. Try  and listen to the speech given by Neville Chamberlain. Think about how this might make you feel if you had been gathered around the radio and heard this announcement. What questions would you want to ask?
