Welcome to
Welcome to Blandford St Mary Church of England Primary School. I feel immensely proud to be the Headteacher of this wonderful one-form entry school where children truly are at the heart of everything we do.
We offer excellent standards of care, guidance and support and a high-quality learning environment to support all learners equally. The school upholds an ethos of high expectations which provides children with challenging opportunities where children acquire skills, knowledge and confidence that can be applied to all future learning experiences. These opportunities encourage respect, self-belief, excellence and enjoyment and prepare our pupils for the next stage of their education.

To celebrate World Down Syndrome Day A huge thank you to Charlotte's mum, who very generously made a little gift bag for every child in Year 4. Such a kind and thoughtful gesture that brought lots of smiles to the children's faces. Moments like this help us celebrate inclusion, kindness and understanding within our school community. Thank you again for your generosity- it is truly appreciated! #primaryschool #worlddownsyndromeday #inclusion #kindness #thankyou
What a fantastic Red Nose Day 2026! The children loved coming to school in non-uniform and wearing their red noses with pride. As part of this special time of Lent, we've been thinking about kindness, generosity and helping others. We're so proud to share that, together, we raised over £200 through our brilliant coin trail! This is a wonderful example of giving to those in need and living out the true meaning of Lent. A huge thank you to all our parents and carers for your generosity and support- it truly makes a difference. Well done everyone for making the day so special. #primaryschool #education #rednoseday #charity #lent

Animal Classification - Year 1 Science This afternoon, our Year 1 class were lucky enough to have some special animal visitors! As part of their science topic, the children explored how animals can be classified into groups based on their body parts. The children carefully observed the animals and talked about what they could see- legs, wings, scales, fur and tails- helping them think about how scientists group different animals. It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience and the class showed wonderful curiosity, asking lots of thoughtful questions and making great observations. What an exciting afternoon of learning! #primaryschool #education #animals #science #handsonlearning

World Book Day Fun at School! Our school reel captured just how much fun the adults had dressing up for World Book Day! From Goldilocks and the Three Bears, to Paddington Bear, and even characters from Mr Men and Little Miss, the creativity was brilliant to see. A special mention has to go to our lovely Mrs Beaver, who had us all waiting in anticipation to see which book villain she would appear as this year... and she certainly didn't disappoint, arriving as Jafar from Aladdin! Huge well done to Miss West and Mr Osborne for making it such a fun and memorable day for everyone. What a fantastic celebration of books and stories for our children! #primaryschool #education #worldbookday #dressingup #schoolreel
