School Values
Love, Hope, Perseverance, Respect, Responsibility
Welcome to
Welcome to Blandford St Mary Church of England Primary School. I feel immensely proud to be the Headteacher of this wonderful one-form entry school where children truly are at the heart of everything we do.
We offer excellent standards of care, guidance and support and a high-quality learning environment to support all learners equally. The school upholds an ethos of high expectations which provides children with challenging opportunities where children acquire skills, knowledge and confidence that can be applied to all future learning experiences. These opportunities encourage respect, self-belief, excellence and enjoyment and prepare our pupils for the next stage of their education.

Year 6, you have truly inspired us this Children's Mental Health Week We started by surrounding each other with kindness- writing positive affirmations around every single member of our class. Then came teamwork and perseverance as we worked together to complete a tricky puzzle. When it didn't quite fit, one wise child reminded us: "It's ok because not everything fits together perfectly to belong!" We ended the week by writing the most beautiful poems- from the perspective of our classroom itself. The pride, honesty and depth in your words... let's just say Miss West and Mrs Dolman didn't have a dry eye. So proud of our Year 6 family. #childrensmentalhealthweek #Year6 #positivity #education #proud
This week across our school we've been celebrating Children's Mental Health Week Our children have been exploring what makes them them~ sharing special books together, looking in mirrors and talking about what they love about themselves and creating their own "maps of belonging" to show where and with whom they feel safe, happy and valued. It's been a beautiful week of reflection, confidence building and connection because every child deserves to feel seen, heard and proud of who they are. #childrensmentalhealth #belonging #selfworth #primaryschool #together

For Children's Mental Health Week, every child created a paper version of themselves to show that we all belong in our school. From Year 6 all the way through to Reception, our corridor is filled with every unique, wonderful member of our school family. From Art and English book to a finished piece proudly on display in KS1 Year 6 have written factual and descriptive explanation texts about a chosen animal, carefully researching and crafting their work. They then produced stunning artwork to accompany their writing. We are so proud of their creativity, effort and attention to detail. Their finished pieces are now on display to inspire our younger writers and artists across the school #education #primaryschool #writing #art #english
This week we are marking Children's Mental Health Week, focusing on the theme of Belonging. At our school, one of our core values is LOVE, rooted in the words: "Let all that you do be done in love." (1 Corinthians 16:14) We are so proud that so many of our children say they feel loved and that they truly belong here. Creating a safe, caring community where every child feels seen, valued and supported is at the heart of everything we do. When children feel they belong, they flourish. #childrensmentalhealth #belonging #schoolvalues #loveinaction #love @_place2be
