We have a successful and supportive team of Governors at Blandford St Mary CE Primary School.

Here you can find out all about the Governing Body, what it does, who is involved, their interests and their commitments to the school.

What is the Local Governing Board and what is its role?

The local governing board is a voluntary group, called the Academy Standards Committee, who carry out many of the functions of a governing body. The local Governors report to an overarching body called the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust Board (“DSAT”) which the School joined with effect from 1^st January 2020. The local Governors are responsible for and monitor the impact and implementation of the School Improvement Plan by holding the School to account for its actions.

Together with the School the local Governors will promote high achievement in all curriculum areas so that children can accomplish the very best in all they do, in a safe and caring environment.

The Academy Standards Committee are bound by a Scheme of Delegation, Constitution and Terms of Reference. These documents provide the set of rules by which the local Governors abide in supporting DSAT to take responsibility for the School and a copy of this document is attached here.

We are members of the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust and the governance of the Trust belongs to the main DSAT Board. Above is our Scheme of Delegation.  This also includes our Constitution and Terms of Reference.
